Hello
and welcome to the Saint Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute's
web site. Please take a little time to review our web site
to learn more about what the Institute has to offer
you.
A
little about us. The cornerstone of Saint Louis Behavioral
Medicine Institute is our reliance on scientific, empirically
based treatments. In other words, these are treatments
that have been shown to work. However, we are holistic
in our goals, considering biological, behavioral, and
emotional results, and integrating spirituality in the
care of clients who want to work with spiritual issues
in their treatment.
The
Institute offers specialized programs in a number of
areas including the Anxiety
Disorders Center; a Program for Psychology
and Religion; Eating
Disorders Program; Headache
and Pain Management Program; and specialized programs
for children and
adolescents. Please browse our site to learn more
about the range and depth of our service menu. Additionally,
we provide primary
mental healthcare to the St. Louis regional community.
SLBMI
is a comprehensive, interdisciplinary behavioral health
facility. The institute brings together individuals
from a diverse group of health disciplines including
clinical psychology, internal medicine, social work,
nursing, theology, physical therapy, psychiatry, and
art therapy. This diversity allows the Institute to
offer coordinated treatment and consultation. Our specialized
programs and our ability to provide continuum of care
for all age groups makes us a unique and powerful national
resource for those seeking the most advanced behavioral
health care available.
We
are a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, a leading
national healthcare management company. We also are
an academic affiliate of Saint Louis University Health
Sciences Center. As such, the Institute is in a wonderful
position to offer the best of two worlds. We unite the
academic excellence and knowledge expected at a world-class
teaching and research university with the professional
dedication and commitment to quality of a major healthcare
organization.
Many
of our staff hold academic appointments in the Division
of Behavioral Medicine in the Department of Community
and Family Medicine at Saint Louis University School
of Medicine. The Institute faculty and staff contribute
to the academic mission of the University Medical Center
as well as training future physicians and psychologists
in behavioral healthcare. Institute clinicians are available
to talk to interested groups about a variety of behavioral
medicine topics.
Thank
you for your interest in Saint Louis Behavioral Medicine
Institute. If you would like more information about
any of the programs or would like to speak with one
of us, please call the Institute toll free at 1-877-245-2688
and ask for the Intake Office. The Institute serves
clients from across the country as well as in the St.
Louis Metro Region (314-534-0200), with offices both
in Chesterfield and the City of St. Louis. We look forward
to working with you.
Sincerely,
Ronald
