Psychology and Religion Program>> Psychology
and Religion Intensive Outpatient Program
Our intensive outpatient program typically admits priests, deacons, male religious (friars), and women religious (nuns) who are struggling in some way (see Areas of Special Focus). Our program integrates intensive individual psychotherapy, a variety of group psychotherapies, spiritual direction, and other therapeutic elements (e.g. medication management).
Specifically, each client becomes a part of several specialized group therapies:
- Cognitive-Behavior Therapy
- Interpersonal Process
- Body-Mind
- Spirituality
- Art Therapy
Some clients have additional needs that can be supported by our adjunctive programs, such as our internationally known Anxiety Disorders Center or our Eating Disorders Program, Headache & Pain Management Program, or Physical Therapy department.
Feedback conferences are arranged with the client and their leadership (e.g. Bishop, Provincial, Vicar for Priests, Superior, etc.) at regular intervals as a way of communicating progress, emerging problems, and areas of future growth.
